PREX to celebrate Record Store Day

Princeton Record Exchange is set to celebrate the seventh annual National Record Store Day on April 19.

On Record Store Day, hundreds of limited edition titles are sold only at stores like Princeton Record Exchange.

Notable titles that will be available for purchase that day include Public Enemy’s Chuck D, a re-issue of their classic “It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back,” Bruce Springsteen’s 12 inch E.P., “American Beauty” with four unreleased songs, a glow-in-the-dark 10 inch single of Ray Parker Jr.’s “Ghostbusters,” A David Bowie picture-disc single of “1984,” a Ramones re-issue on navy colored vinyl of a 1980 U.K. promo 10 inch E.P. and teen sensation One Direction’s first ever vinyl release a 7 inch picture-disc with an unreleased track.

Many of these record have limited productions runs and the stores don’t know what they’ll receive until just before Record Store Day.

The doors open at 10 a.m. but customers line up for hours before.

The band Dinner will play an in-store show at 5 p.m.

Princeton Record Exchange is located at 20 South Tulane Street downtown Princeton.
