The gallery at Plainsboro Public Library presents “Narratives”, a collaboration between artists Elaine Rosenberg and Nancy Scott, who have found common purpose in shaping images with paper, fabric, paint, ink, and found objects in their mixed media and collages. With colors, textures, and imagination, they draw upon memory, history, people, and place for inspiration. Their work tells a story, either figuratively or literally, which the viewer can interpret freely, or in which they can discover personal parallels. A reception will be held Sunday, January 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. The exhibit is on view through January 27.

Elaine Rosenberg, a resident of North Brunswick, is an administrator in the publishing operations department at the IEEE in Piscataway. She began art studies at Kean University, and has further developed her skills with instruction at the Visual Art Center of NJ, the Arts Council of Princeton, Artworks, and various art retreats.

Nancy Scott, a resident of Lawrenceville, is a poet as well as artist. She became intrigued with creating collages and mixed media in 2010.

“When I started, I was concerned about controlling space, so most of my artwork is rendered on 6”x9” matte board, originally the actual dividers that came in the boxes of my poetry books,” says Scott. “I often explore themes of people and place.”
