Fifth grade students at Village School raised more than $12,”000 to benefit St. Jude Research Hospital. More than 200 students completed math problems and obtained sponsors for the cause.

The project was coordinated by teachers Eileen Beam and Audrey Courtney-Quinn. Over the past seven years, Village students have raised more than $100,”000 for this worthy cause. The problems, solved during the students free time, were in addition to their regular school work.
