Musicians in the Making recently hosted a Family Music Party at its Plainsboro location. “Parents and their children joined in circle dances, singing games, instrument play, and musical make-believe,” says founder-director Linda M. Fields.##M:[more]##Everyone who pre-registered for the event received a kit to make a singing tube. A recording of family-oriented international folk music was given to one family as a door prize. Musicians in the Making cultivates music literacy through age-appropriate music classes for newborns and up, educates parents about music’s role in their child’s development, and encourages community music-making — especially parent-child interaction through song and dance.“We hope to make this a regular event,” she said. “Children and parents from every culture love getting together to sing and dance. Music can bring a community together like nothing else.”For more information visit www.musiciansinthemaking.com.
