The Crisis Ministry will host an event to commemorate the Hanover Community Garden in its third growing season. The event will take place June 10 at 2 p.m. and will be located at 119 East Hanover Street in Trenton.

Mayor Eric Jackson of Trenton is scheduled to speak, joined by members of the Trenton City Council.

The Crisis Ministry will unveil a plaque honoring the community garden’s generous supporters including the City of Trenton, the Bonner Foundation, First Presbyterian Church of Trenton, Isles, Inc., SAGE Coalition and Urban Mission Cabinet.

The Crisis Ministry’s Hanover Garden annually grows more than one ton of vegetables and herbs for pantry guests. Volunteers and Crisis Ministry staff tend the garden as part of their mission to reduce food insecurity, ensure access to fresh produce and promote better nutrition and health for people of all ages.
