The ninth annual West Windsor BikeFest, also known as the “whirr of the wheels” among fellow cyclists, takes place on Saturday, May 26, at West Windsor Community Park. The rides, ranging from 1.5 to 40 miles, all begin and end at the park.

A bike safety rodeo education program is available, especially for young children and novices, from 9 to 11 a.m. Instructors will provide one-on-one training to kids as young as three. The lessons will include safety training related to bike riding including road crossing, watching out for vehicles, and defensive driving.

Prior to each ride, a bike tech specialist from Halter’s Bike Shop will be onsite to provide minor adjustments for free. Route markings, cue sheets and maps, food and water stops, lunch, and a post-ride party are all included with registration.

The annual event provides opportunities for cyclists to meet fellow members of the community and includes food, DJ entertainment, a moon bounce, and a giant slide during the post-ride celebration party. More than 700 people attended last year.
