With more than 350 guests in attendance, the St. Francis Medical Center Foundation held its 52nd annual spring gala, “A Tour of Italy,” at the Hyatt Regency Princeton on June 13, 2015.

This year’s honorees were: The First Annual “Physician Healing Hands Award,” presented to Ethan A. Tarasov, MD, The First Annual “Corporate Lighting the Way Award” presented to The Hibbert Group, and the prestigious 2015 “Spirit of St. Francis” award was given to Paul R. Langevin and David L. Knowlton. These honors are given to individual(s)/organization who reflect the philosophy of caring as embodied by St. Francis of Assisi in the community that we serve.

In addition, a special Apostolic Blessing by Pope Francis was announced in commemoration of the 141st Anniversary of St. Francis Medical Center. A very special feature of the evening was the daVinci Si Robot. Guests were able to operate the machine that St. Francis Medical Center is now utilizing for minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgeries.

The “Tour of Italy” themed night featured an accordion player, a marketplace filled with fresh flowers, tables decorated to feature the cities of Rome, Assisi and Venice and to top the evening off – Italian ice! A highlight of the evening was the drawing of the SFMC Auxiliary Super 50/50 Raffle with a prize of $17,450. The lucky winner was Michael Gummel of Ewing.
