With Thanksgiving on the horizon, West Windsor Council held a quick and tidy meeting November 23.

Several holiday events were announced: the annual tree lighting is Sunday, December 6, at the Ron Rogers Arboretum, weather permitting. The Historical Society of West Windsor holds holiday open houses at the Schenck Farmstead on Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6.

Council approved an ordinance amendment that prohibits parking on both sides of Old Bear Brook Road. Also approved was an application for a $18,780 state transportation department grant for traffic safety programs. West Windsor has Route 1 in its boundaries and is designated a “Safe Corridors” area.

Councilmember-elect Alison Miller urged Council to approve a redevloper’s agreement with Artis Senior Living. The company has been approved to build a memory care facility on Alexander Road.

“It will provide six units of low income, which will count towards our affordable housing quota,” Miller said.

Business Administrator Marlena Schmid said the resolution needed clarification to protect the township and requested the resolution be pulled. The resolution is expected to be on the agenda at the Monday, December 7, Council meeting. There will also be a work session on taxi licensing and mobile application ride sharing services.
