Mercer County students place in poster contest

On May 22, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture honored winners of the annual Conservation Poster Contest in Trenton. The contest was designed to raise awareness of natural resources and related issues among young people. This year’s theme was Dig Deeper “Mysteries in the Soil.” Three students from Mercer County were among the winners. Michelle Xu of West Windsor was the Grand Champion and the first place winner in the Grades 10-12 category. Jonathan Tong of West Windsor took first place in the Grades 2-3 category. Aluen Tomat-Kelly of Lawrenceville placed third in grades 4-6 category. First place winners received $200 prizes and third place winners received $50.
