Emily Meshumar of West Windsor won the peach pie contest at West Windsor Farmers’ Market with her vegan peach pie. The judges were Karen Child, pastry chef at Princeton University; Rachel Weston, chef, culinary instructor, and food writer; Michele Damon, a registered dietician and WWCFM board member; and Sam Kennedy and Stacey Gentile, cheesemakers at the Farm at Doe Run in Chester County, PA.

Seven bakers vied for the grand prize of $25 in WWCFM gift certificates, bragging rights, and the chance to compete in the New Jersey Peach Promotion Council bake off next week. Meshumar will be representing the West Windsor Community Farmers Market at the Hammonton Market contest on Saturday, August 23. (www.­jerseypeaches.­com).
