Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes announced Oct. 9 that Frontier Airlines will expand its service at Trenton-Mercer Airport with the addition of nonstop service to Cincinnati, Ohio, and Charlotte, N.C.

Frontier plans to begin traveling to the new destinations Feb. 12, 2014. To celebrate this announcement, Frontier is set to offer fares as low as $39 each way through Oct. 20.

Frontier has scheduled three weekly flights between Trenton-Mercer Airport and Cincinnati, and four weekly flights between the airport and Charlotte. Frontier flights from Trenton-Mercer operate on 138-seat Airbus 319 aircraft.

The addition of Cincinnati and Charlotte increases Frontier’s destinations from Mercer County from nine to 11.

Trenton-Mercer Airport is gearing up for a grand reopening Nov. 8. When the airport reopens, it is set to feature additional parking, improved baggage service, increased capacity at security and a gate area featuring additional seating, restrooms and food and drinks.

Frontier is the only airline providing scheduled service out of Trenton-Mercer Airport. Other destinations include Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago-Midway, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, Raleigh-Durham and Tampa.
