Not sure when your next recycling pick up is, try Mercer County’s recycling application.

Mercer County Improvement Authority launched an application called my-waste.

MCIA executive director Phillip S. Miller said the app features information on regular and special collection schedules. Users can set the app to notify them of upcoming collections.

Miller said along with a collection information and a search function, the app allows users to report a problem, like missed collections or illegal dumping, to MCIA.

“The report-a-problem feature uses the smartphone’s GPS positioning system and built-in camera. All they have to do is select the report-a-problem function, take a picture and the problem is automatically e-mailed to us,” Miller said.

Miller said my-waste is free and available for iPhones, iPads and Android phones. The app can be found in the device’s application store.

Miller said the app should be available for Blackberry in early 2013.
