Fifth graders at Kisthardt Elementary School completed the 10-week Drug Abuse Resistance Education program.

Officer Ralph Mastrangelo from the Hamilton Township Police Department educated the students about drugs, alcohol, and peer pressure. DARE’s mission is to teach students how to say no when pressured by peers. Kisthardt students practiced their decision making skills through role plating scenarios.

The course completed with an essay contest; Gabrielle Hindermyer won first place, Kylie Zarzecki won second and Nayeli Franco won third.
