Mamma Rosa’s wins soup contest

The Rotary Club of Hamilton Township hosted its Soup For You contest Feb. 25 at Reynolds Middle School.

About 300 attendees tasted 11 soups from 10 local restaurants.

The Rotary Club awarded Mamma Rosa’s Restaurant Grand Champions for their potato with horseradish and bacon soup.

La Piazza Ristorante took home the Chef’s Choice award for their cream roasted red pepper with chicken soup.

Other restaurants in the running were Bill’s Olde Tavern, Jersey Girl Cafe, Mastori’s, Dubh Linn Square, Yardville Inn, Il Cielo Ristorante, Melbri’s Tea House and Killarney’s Publick House.

Proceeds benefited scholarships for graduating seniors in Hamilton Township.
