Ewing DanceVision youths to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream May 4-5

Ewing residents Kate MacDonald, Kyryk Pavlovsky, Zoya Pavlovsky, Hope Blair, Dasha Eisenhauer and Eva Washington are set to perform in DanceVision Performance Company’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream May 4 and 5 at The College of New Jersey’s Kendall Theater.

Dancers are set to perform in DanceVision Performance Company’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream May 4 and 5.

Ewing residents Kate MacDonald, Kyryk Pavlovsky, Zoya Pavlovsky, Hope Blair, Dasha Eisenhauer, and Eva Washington are set to dance in this production.

The ballet is based on the play by William Shakespeare and set to Mendelssohn’s score. Artistic director, Risa Kaplowitz, choreographed the performance, bringing the tale of magical characters to life.

Following intermission, DanceVision members will perform Graduation Ball as a special bonus feature. Original choreography is by David Lichine and is staged by Sergio Manolo Molina.

Graduation Ball is about a group of male cadets who are invited to a dance at a girl’s school.

Additionally, DanceVision is offering a free pre-performance talk one hour prior to each performance about the story and translating literature into dance.

Performances are set for 3 p.m. May 4 and 2 p.m. May 5 at The College of New Jersey’s Kendall Theater, 2000 Pennington Road, Ewing.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children, students and seniors.
