A Hamilton Square entrepreneur was recently awarded the Quest for Excellence award by CK Franchising, Inc., the franchiser of Comfort Keepers.

Stephanie Howe, RN, owner of the Hamilton Square Comfort Keepers office, received the award from the company’s support office in Dayton, Ohio for her business performance in 2012. She also won the award in 2010.

Howe has owned the Hamilton Square Comfort Keepers franchise for 8 years. She said she was interested in home care because of an experience with he father.

“I bought the business because my father had chronic progressive Multiple Sclerosis and was put in a nursing home at age 44. There were no services like ours available at the time and I didn’t want others to suffer as my family did,” Howe said in a statement.

Comfort Keepers is a franchise offering in-home care and services for aging adults and others needing assistance. The company’s goal is to allow clients to live comfortably in their own homes and maintain their independence.

In-home care assistants help clients by cooking, performing light housekeeping, running errands, reminding them about medications and assisting with bathing.

Comfort Keepers has more than 600 franchised locations around the world.
