Saxophonist Darryl Yokley to play Westminster at Nassau series April 18

Saxophonist Darryl Yokley is set to present a free concert with Ruisha Zhang on piano at 12:15 p.m. on April 18.

The concert is part of the Westminster Conservatory at Nassau series scheduled for the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau St., Princeton.

They will perform the Prelude, Cadence, et Finale by Alfred Desenclos and Aeolian Song by Warren Benson.

Yokley is a jazz and classical performer, composer and educator. He studied saxophone at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa. and Michigan State University.

The saxophonist has written more than 20 original compositions, some of which were performed and recorded by the Michigan State Jazz Ensemble II.

Yokely has performed with the Four Tops, the Temptations and the O`Jays.

The final Westminster Conservatory at Nassau recital of the season is scheduled for May 16 and features the Barton and Lehrer Duo, Ena Bronstein Barton and Phyllis Alpert Lehrer, piano.

The series is funded in part by the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission through the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
