Runners and walkers participated in the first ever Mercer County Turkey Trot at Mercer County Park on Thanksgiving morning.
More than 400 participants registered for the 5K race and the one-mile fun run/walk. From the race proceeds and additional donations, the event raised $13,000 to distribute to local food pantries, including Jewish Family and Children’s Service, RISE in Hightstown, and the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
In addition, 40 bags of food collected at the event were donated to TASK and Rise.
