While the redevelopment of Windsor Plaza is moving along quickly (WW-P News, April 13) the opposite side of Route 571 also has a new neighbor looking to contribute to West Windsor’s traditional downtown.

The Center for Orthodontic Excellence at 61 Princeton-Hightstown Road will hold a grand opening celebration on Wednesday, May 16, from 3 to 7 p.m. Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. at the new office at the site of the former potato barn, located next to Chase Bank. The new practice is an expansion of a primary office in Philadelphia, started by two University of Pennsylvania-educated orthodontists — one of whom is a West Windsor resident.

Dr. Shalin R. Shah, who has followed the path of his father into dentistry, earned a bachelor of arts, doctorate of dental medicine, certificate in orthodontics, and a masters of science in oral biology at Penn. He moved to West Windsor in 2006 and now lives on Orly Court with his wife, Neha, and 19-month-old son, Kaayan Shalin. The couple is expecting their second child this September. Neha Desai Shah attended Penn and Wharton Business School, and founded Global eProcure, a company that provides solutions for supply chain management.
