Why Keep WW Library Closed?

I remain puzzled why the West Windsor library was closed after Sandy through the following Sunday. It doesn’t seem to have been for a lack of power, if people were recharging cell phones through an outside outlet and eventually a cord through a window (WW-P News, November 9). And while I understand that not every employee could have made it to work (and may have had Sandy-related problems to cope with), many other people who didn’t have power at home were on the roads and getting to work by Wednesday or Thursday.

Both the Princeton and Plainsboro libraries reopened quickly and became community gathering points. The same could have happened in West Windsor, even if not all library services were available.

Perhaps the Mercer County Library system can explain the decision to close all its branches for so many days?
