Accident. Water flowing from a hydrant that was hit by a van outside of the Princeton MarketFair on Route 1 caused major headaches for commuters on March 21. West Windsor Police said a van struck the fire hydrant after veering off Route 1 South around 7:22 a.m. The driver then abandoned the car on Farber Road. Police said the registered owners of the van did not know it was involved in the accident, and police are still looking for the driver.

Two of the three southbound lanes were closed throughout the rest of the morning commute until about 12:40 p.m. while repairs were completed.
