For the sixth year in a row, the Community Middle School Science Olympiad team took first place honors in the New Jersey Science Olympiad competition and will represent the state in the National Science Olympiad competition at Wichita State University in May. Competing in 23 events Community students won medals in 21 events and students received 10 gold medals, two silver, three bronze, and three fourth places.

The members of the Panther team, pictured above, include Frederick Huang, Jennifer Ibanez, Payal Marathe, Varnika Atmakuri, Sam Goldfinger, Spencer Palombit, Aneesha Raghunathan, Renuka Reddy, Rithwik Vedati, Sanjana Manikandan, Mrinalini Basu, Gita Gnanadesikan, Vidya Nandapurkar, Rohit Reddy, and Aparna Shankar. Principal Arthur Downs, far right, is the team’s coach.
