The 78,”000 square foot structure, scheduled to be completed in Fall 2009, is projected to cost $28.5 million, and include a child care and early education center, health and fitness facilities, a Kosher caf‚, private JFCS suites, and offices for the United Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation. The campus will include Abrams Day Camp and Greenwood House for the Aged as well. It will include recreation fields and a swimming pool. The property is designed to accommodate future expansion of the facilities.

According to Paul Schindel, co-chairman of the Campus Redevelopment Council, $18.5 was raised from private donations, and the sale of the group’s property in Ewing, which closed in September.

Construction will begin in May 2008, pending township approval. The project will be vetted by the Site Plan Review Advosory Board by July. The project will then move on to the Planning Board.

A public forum on the project will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, at Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor.
