Students at Town Center Elementary School will have a new place to play, to share, and to learn in September. The school’s PTA recently received final approval to begin construction of a new gazebo that will be built adjacent to the playground.##M:[more]##

A collaborative effort by parents and faculty as well as local businesses, funding for the project began with a $5,”000 Toolbox for Education grant awarded by Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation with the balance coming from successful PTA fundraising. Cathy Counts, whose daughter Sierra is a Town Center student, and Kirkdean Scarlett of Johnson Jones Architects provided the necessary architectural drawings.

Once the gazebo is constructed, a path to the gazebo will be laid with bricks engraved with names, messages, and sentiments celebrating the school’s first five years. Parents, faculty, and alumni have a unique opportunity to buy an engraved brick which will become part of the brick path to our new gazebo.
