The roads are expected to be closed intermittently while the work is completed. The project will include replacing one existing manhole and installing another manhole. The existing pipes will be re-lined.

The problem started when the area flooded during a rainstorm in March. As a result, the township awarded an emergency bid, and may be eligible to be reimbursed up to 75 percent of the cost by FEMA.

The township is conducting a traffic study of Canal Pointe Boulevard. The study will cost $75,”000 and will be completed before the end of the year.

According to township engineer James Parvesse, the study will determine the best way to make the roadway safer for drivers and for pedestrians. The township has budgeted 1.2 million for improvements over the next four years.
