Tamara Davis-Gaskins of West Windsor, a student at Princeton Theological Seminary, is having a CD release celebration on Saturday, September 8, at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton. “God Made Me,” her first gospel spoken word CD, features musical production by Marca Da Beatz..##M:[more]##

A professional spoken word artist for more than 10 years, she is pursuing a masters of divinity degree. For the past four years she has been teaching poetry and playwriting for the Passage Theater’s “Poetry Nation” program. She has also facilitated spoken word workshops and creative writing critiques for the Union and Mercer counties teen arts festivals, and has assumed oversight and coordination responsibilities of the Mercer County program in 2006 and 2007.

While attending Kean University Davis-Gaskins began educating and entertaining audiences on topics that affect American society and performed with groups throughout the United States and Canada. She has continued on her path as a solo artist.

She is the author of “Completion – A Poetic Biography,” released one spoken word CD titled, “A Woman – Snapshots In Time,” and prompted a host of chapbooks. Her credits throughout the tri-state region and Canada include repeated features at the Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe, Bogie’s Poet’s Corner, the House of Poetry-African Globe Studios, and the Urban Word Cafe.
