Andrew Elkin of West Windsor, a senior, has completed three or more advanced placement exams with grades of three or higher, and has been named an AP Scholar at Princeton Day School. Elkin was also named a scholar by the National Hispanic Recognition Program for his academic achievements. The program was initiated in 1983 to identify academically outstanding Hispanic high school students based on their PSAT/NMSQT test scores and grade point averages. Open to students who identify themselves as at least one-quarter Hispanic, ethnicity is verified by a school counselor.

Joshua Charnin-Aker and Rory Loughran, both of West Windsor, received awards at the Peddie School’s annual convocation.

Charnin-Aker, a senior, received the Rensselaer Medal on behalf of the New Jersey Association of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for the highest achievement in math and science. He also received the Eleventh Grade Scholarship Cup and the Potter Cup for strength of character, leadership, citizenship, and scholarship. For overall academic achievement, he was inducted into the Cum Laude Society.

Loughran, a sophomore, received the Class of 1885 Geometry Cup for outstanding work on the subject.

Michael Gordon and Anita Joseph, both of West Windsor, have been selected as semifinalists in the 2007 National Merit Scholarship Program. They are students at the Lawrenceville School
