Alexandra Olgin and Christina Dunne were among the 11 Mercer County eighth grade students presented with Caring Awards by the Mercer County Professional Counselors Association.

Olgin, a student at Grover Middle School, was accompanied by her guidance counselor, Frank Gallo. She lives with her parents Steve and Elise and her two sisters, Danielle and Sabrina. She plays lacrosse for Grover, dives competitively, and is a founding member of the West Windsor chapter of Kids for Kids.

Dunne, a Community Middle School student, was accompanied by her counselor, Faith Hancock. She lives with her parents, Bob and Paula, her brother Robb, and sister Nicole. She is a member of the A.M.I.G.O.S, the service group at Community, and plays the piano.

As a working student at Wildflowers Farm, she helps care for the horses by exercising them, taking them in and out of the stables, grooming them, and helping the vet when he visits. She also bakes trays of cookies and sweets for the staff at Burlington Woods Nursing Home, where her grandfather lives, and Granville House Assisted Living Center, where her grandmother lives. She also teaches religious education and sings in the choir at St. David the King Church.
