Hamilton, NJ – July 31, 2019 – The Trenton Thunder are back on the road this summer, building on their bond with the Miracle League of Mercer County, in a collaborative effort to raise funds to support the growing league’s operational and maintenance costs.  Last year, the Thunder and the Miracle League raised over $14,000, which went directly to a significant field resurfacing project.

This year, the all-star game event will be held on Wednesday, August 7 at the Hamilton Area YMCA Sawmill Branch (185 Sawmill Road, Hamilton), and will be an experience unlike any other.  There will be plenty of baseball action with our MLMC and Thunder players, games and giveaways, official “Thunder on the Road” All Star Game merchandize for sale, and food provided by Killarney’s Publick House and Brother’s Pizza Route 33.    Pre-game ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. Game starts at 6:15 p.m.  There is a donation of $5 per person to attend.

Organizers say all funds raised will go directly to supporting Miracle League of Mercer County.  The Miracle League relies on the generous support of sponsors and donors to build an inclusive environment that benefits not only individuals with special needs but the broader community as well. We strive to remove physical, social, emotional, and behavioral barriers and to acknowledge the significant contributions of everyone in the community. This means welcoming and valuing someone who would otherwise be excluded.

Since its inception, more than 250 players, their families and volunteers have had a significant impact on the broader community, demonstrating what can happen when differences are accepted and diversity is embraced.  Now in its 14th year of operation, the Miracle League is providing programming year round for any child or individual with special needs.
