River Horse Brewey warehouse manager runs in a previous 6K race. This year’s race will be held April 20.

River Horse Brewing Company is hosting a Blood Sweat and Beers 6K Race and Spring Festival next month. Held April 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event will be a celebration of beer, music and food.

The 6K (3.7 mile) race starts and finishes at River Horse Brewing Company. River Horse prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age group. Runners will receive a shirt, special edition event glass, finisher medal, and a free beer.

The Spring Festival that follows will benefit the local police, PBA Ewing Local 111. There will be live music featuring Calla Bere & the Attitude, I Am Colby, and the Modern Mojo Band. There will also be food trucks and family-friendly activities, including a dunk tank.

The Blood Sweat and Beers event is named for the “sunscreen” that Hippos — featured on the brewery’s logo — produce on their their own. It’s a reddish, oily liquid secreted from their skin known that is known as “blood sweat”.

The 6K costs $45 and runners can register in advance online at runsignup.com. Admission to the Spring Festival is free.  for 6k, Spring Festival is FREE!
