A retired Hamilton Township inspector was recently honored by township employees for his service in World War II.
Matthew Midura was a member of the United States Army and served in the Battle of the Bulge, as well as in Normandy just 48 hours after D-Day. He is a recipient of the Bronze Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory and an Award of Good Conduct Medal.
Along with Midura’s family and friends, Mayor Kelly Yaede, former Mayor Jack Rafferty, members of the Marine Corps League – Trenton Detachment No. 207, and members of the Hamilton Township Patriotic Committee were on hand to recognize Midura for his service.
