Theft arrest

James M. Mitchell, 34, of Yardley, Pennsylvania, was arrested Sept. 27 on theft and fencing charges. Police said that an investigation revealed that Mitchell had stolen multiple items of medical equipment valued at $70,000 over a six-month period. Police did not identify the victim of the theft. It was also alleged that Mitchell was selling the equipment on the internet.

DWI arrests

Ankur Sinha, 29, of Lawrenceville, was arrested Sept. 27 for driving while intoxicated. Police said Sinha, who was driving a 2016 Honda CRV, was stopped on Route 1 south at 12:24 a.m. for speeding 86 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. He was found to be intoxicated and also issued summonses for reckless driving, speeding, failure to maintain lane, failure to keep right, failure to exhibit registration card, failure to exhibit insurance card, no insurance and careless driving.

Vikrant S. Dhore, 31, of Edison, was arrested Oct. 6 on a drunk driving charge. Police said that Dhore was stopped on Route 1 south at 1:58 a.m. for speeding, and he was found to be intoxicated. He was also charged with reckless driving, speeding, failure to maintain lane and failure to keep right.

Cheryl Hickey, 60, of Fords, was arrested Nov. 4 on a drunk driving charge. Police said that Hickey, who was driving a red Toyota minivan, was stopped on Route 1 south at 10:21 p.m. for erratic driving and was found to be intoxicated. She was also issued tickets for failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, careless driving and unapproved color of lamps.

West Windsor

DWI arrests

Eric J. Naprawa, 35, of Ewing was arrested July 27 on a drunk driving charge. Officer Ted Hojnacki said that Naprawa was driving a black 2018 Hyundai on Route 1 when he was involved in an accident near Washingon Road. The car rear-ended a vehicle, flipped and then slid into a concrete barrier. Investigation revealed that Naprawa had been driving while intoxicated, police said.

Gregory D. Liedtka-Nixon, 34, of Hamilton, was arrested July 28 on a drunk driving charge. Officer Christian Crawford said he found a blue 2011 Chevrolet stopped on the shoulder of Route 1 under the Meadow Road overpass. Officer Crawford said he stopped to see if assistance was needed and found that Liedtka-Nixon was intoxicated behind the wheel.

Arrested on a drunk driving charge on Aug. 19 was Parteek Tomar, 25, of Monmouth Junction.

Officer Peter Buchanan said he was disptached to invistigate an auto accident on Route 1 at Washington Road and found that Tomar had lost control of his gray 2016 Dodge Challenger while he was on Route 1.

Tomar drove the car into the Gulf gas station at the corner—where he struck a light pole, crossed to the other side of Washington Road, drove into the AT&T store parking lot and finally came to a stop in the parking lot of the Princeton Baptist Church. Along the way, several objects including a sign were struck.

Officer Buchanan said that he found Tomar to be intoxicated. The officer also found several open cans of beer were found inside the vehicle.

Drug arrests. Larry D. Miller, 28 of Newark, and Robert M. Williams, 29, of Bronx, New York, were arrested July 28 on drug possession charges. Officer Edward McQuade said he stopped a silver 2012 Toyota driven by Miller on Route 1 near Carnegie Center Boulevard for speeding and erratic driving.

The officer said that during the stop he found Miller to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana inside of a prescription bottle, a partially smoked marijuana cigarette and various items of paraphernalia associated with marijuana use, including a grinder.

Williams, a passenger, was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana in a plastic bag that inside of his backpack, Officer McQuade said.

Christopher L. Reaves, 24, of Vineland was arrested Aug. 8 on drug and paraphernalia possession charges. Officer Christian Crawford said he stopped Reaves, who was driving a purple 2007 Mazda on Route 1 near Quakerbridge Road, for broken lights and a suspended registration. He was found to be was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana located in the glove compartment of the car, and a marijuana grinder and a Cigarillo cigar.

Zachary J. Belfer, 29, of Kendall, Pennsylvania, was arrested Aug. 19 on drug and paraphernalia possession charges. Officer Dominic Fiore was dispatched to the parking lot outside Dick’s Sporting Goods in the Nassau Park Shopping Center to investigate a report of someone (Belfer) sleeping in a black Hyuandai Sonata. He was reportedly surrounded by drug paraphernalia.

Prior to the officer’s arrival, Belfer woke up and drove away. The person who called in the report followed Belfer and relayed his location to police.

Officer Fiore found Belfer on Route 1 near Alexander Road and stopped him.Belfer was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, a large glass bong, a glass smoking pipe and marijuana grinder

Hindering apprehension arrest. Jerry D. Walker, 56, of Trenton was arrested July 29 while trying to collect money from people in the parking lot of Windsor Green Shopping Center.

Officer Christian Crawford said he was dispatched to Windsor Green to investigate a report that someone in the parking lot was soliciting people for money. Officer Crawford said he observed Walker, who fit the description of the person soliciting, approach someone, engage them and then walk away.

When questioned, Walker told Officer Crawford that he was trying to raise money for prisoner re-entry programs, and did not know that he needed a permit to solicit in West Windsor.

When Walker was asked to identify himself, he provided a false name and information to the officer. Further investigation revealed his true identity, and he was determined to be wanted by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. He also had several warrants for his arrest out of Trenton, Ewing, Hopewell and Princeton. He was processed at police headquarters and then transported to the Mercer County Corrections Center.
