My Gym was born out of a passion to teach children in a fun, physically engaging environment. The facility in Princeton is conveniently located at 625 Nassau Park Boulevard, Princeton. It is now under new ownership and boast a new director as well.
Owners Adrienne and Nicholas Pingitor say, “We are excited to take the reins of this dynamic program. My background as an art educator in public schools and former Gymboree instructor as well as Nick’s management and sales background makes this an ideal opportunity. Our new director, Mariam Shaikh, has been with My Gym and has excelled as a superstar teacher and trainer. Our goal is to create an environment where children feel loved and supported so that their self-esteem and confidence can flourish.”
Pingitor continues, “Our classes are specifically geared to age appropriate skills and development. We offer Little Bundles program for children as young as 6 weeks — 6 months when they begin their first visual, audial and spatial exploration.” Taught Tuesdays from 12:15 to 1:05 p.m., it also provides new parents a chance to meet new friends while bonding with their newborn.
“As the child develops, they move into classes that are dedicated to their abilities. Tiny Tikes, Waddlers, Gymsters, Terrific Tots, Mighty Mites, Whiz kids and Champions are distinctive age appropriate fitness and interactive play classes that offer a variety of developmental benefits such as balance, coordination, socialization and imagination! Older children, ages 4-8 can join Zumba Kids Jr., a rockin’ high-energy dance party packed with kid-friendly routines, and taught by our director Mariam. Our beginner’s gymnastics classes and Ninja training class are also an excellent alternative for older children as they incorporate many fitness activities”
“We will also be launching an Art Explorers class on Wednesdays from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. Children ages 4-8 will learn about artists and their techniques as well as have an introduction to art history. In addition, we are proud to start a marital arts class for 6-10 year olds. Also on Wednesdays, from 7-8 p.m., it will be taught by a black belt instructor of karate and Tae Kwon Do. Both of these classes will begin September 26.”
My Gym’s preschool program offers a special preschool setting for children ages 2 to 5 years old. It is offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
“In addition to all of the wonderful programs we offer, an exciting event is offered monthly: Parents’ Night Out. This is an opportunity for moms and dads to drop their kids off for three hours, from 6-9 p.m., and have a real evening out. The kids will be thrilled with the games and pizza. They may not want to go home,” smiles Pingitor.
“Our My Gym birthday parties are second to none. They are truly an unforgettable experience and we offer great packages and with hardly any set up or clean up! And in case you want to entertain at home, we offer mobile birthday parties as well. We will come to you and everyone will have a blast!”
