It takes a village to raise a child. West Windsor-Plainsboro Education Support Association, established to help the cause, is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers.

Its mission is to support educational excellence for K-12 students in West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District and to support members to be informed of, involved with and empowered on public school and community matters.

Just this month, WWPESA celebrated its second anniversary as a recognized non-profit organization. We have grown from a small, humble group of parent volunteers to a community of hundreds of members and friends.

When we plan our activities, we keep it in mind how we can best enhance the educational experience of our children while also promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing. Looking back at the series of activities we have organized, we are proud to say that we have achieved this purpose.

From November 2017 to March 2018, WWPESA has hosted the Continental Math League contest for students in 3rd-5th grade. A total of more than 60 students participated.

Starting from January 2018, a few senior members of WWPESA helped initiate a Lego Robotics club. The club currently has 21 students of age 7-14, and is run by two FLL registered coaches and several additional parent volunteers.

The club meets weekly with three sessions of seven students each. A subgroup of these students will form teams to participate in the official First Lego League competition in fall 2018.

In February 2018, WWPESA teamed up with Midday Toastmasters Club in District 38 of Toastmasters International to pilot a youth leadership program for middle school and high school students.

An eight-time Distinguished Toastmaster was invited to coach the program attendees. Participants of the youth leadership program meet once a week for one and a half hours.

Seventeen middle to high school students have participated in the program. Gradually, they have taken up leadership roles and have transformed the program into a youth public speaking club. All these three programs will continue in the following years.

These programs could not have taken place without the support of our members and the community. WWPESA sincerely thanks all members who have sacrificed their time, expertise and financial resources in support of the organization.

WWPESA is also grateful for the support from the community. Without the generous offers of local businesses and entities, WWPESA would not have been able to host these events, which take place at West Windsor Library, Plainsboro Library, OCM Canaan Church of Princeton, the First Presbyterian Church of Plainsboro and Berwin Art Dance.

WWPESA welcomes the involvement of all community members. If you have any questions regarding the above programs, or any suggestions for future programs and activities, please do not hesitate to contact us at
