Shoplifting

Target in the Nassau Park Shopping Center was the victim of an alleged shoplifting on Dec. 22. Officer Carlos Abade said he was dispatched to the store at 10:30 p.m. to investigate a shoplifting.

According to the officer, the suspect—a man in his 40s, approximately six feet tall, with a medium build—entered the store and walked back to the warehouse area at the rear of the building.

He selected a Samsung 55-inch television valued at $599.99 and dragged it out through the emergency exit and into a dark blue minivan with tan trim.

The emergency exit alarm alerted store management who went to check the area. The suspect was attempting to take another TV, but ran out through the emergency exit when the manager approached.
