Sinfonietta Nova Orchestra joins Capital Singers of Trenton for a concert at St. David the King Church in West Windsor on Saturday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. They will perform the Requiem by British composer John Rutter and other choral and instrumental works. Tickets are $22.

Sinfonietta Nova is led by Gail H. Lee of West Windsor, the artistic director and conductor. The orchestra will open the concert with Gustav Holst’s Brook Green Suite and Massenet’s Meditation from Thais.

The 80-member, semi-professional group Capital Singers is celebrating its 10th anniversary season, led by founding director and conductor Richard M. Loatman. They will perform works that reflect on the Requiem Mass. Preceded by chants from the Mass of the Dead, the choir will sing works by Handel, York, Bristol, Hayes, and arrangements by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw accompanied by Louis F. Goldberg.

Capital Singers includes as members several residents of West Windsor and Plainsboro. Altos include MarrLa LiPuma, Sally Stillwell, and Suzanne Kazi. Soprano voices include Gina Mastro and Philomena Fischer. Tenors include Clay Spence, Brenda Mihan, Joe LiPuma, Ernie Rich, and Bernie Litzinger. Bass singers include John Pillar and Norman Bergstrom.

The evening will culminate with the performance of the expressive and moving John Rutter Requiem with choir and orchestra. The soprano soloist will be Chloe Dondero.
