Robbinsville High School Raven Players are set to bring fairy tales to life.
The players are set to present their 10th spring musical, Into the Woods.
The musical opened on Broadway in 1987 and won over audiences, claiming three Tony Awards and four Drama Desk Awards, including Most Outstanding Musical. Into the Woods has music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine.
Based on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, Into the Woods leads the audience on a fantastical journey. When a Baker (Brian Malabunga) and his wife (Chelsea Sardoni) learn they’ve been cursed with childlessness by the Witch (Natalia Maccaroni) next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, meeting up with a cast of well‐known characters including Cinderella (Kristen Kozma), Little Red Riding Hood (Karaline Rosen), Rapunzel (Sarah Williams) and Jack (Andrew Malabunga), of beanstalk fame.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. April 4; 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. April 5; and 3 p.m. April 6 at the Robbinsville High School Auditorium, 155 Robbinsville Edinburg Road, Robbinsville.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
