Ben Nemzer, (formerly Nemser) a graduate of High School North, Class of 2004, has a new production in New York City. “Manhattan Magic” is bringing comedians, magicians, and variety performers to the Sage Theater every Wednesday at 8 p.m.##M:[more]##

A graduate of Mercer County High School of Performing Arts with a major in drama, also in 2004, Nemzer received his bachelor’s degree from Marymount Manhattan College. With a minor in education, he is certified as a New York City school teacher. “I am putting to use my knowledge in teaching and experience in magic, by teaching after school programs for private elementary school students, teaching them basic magic tricks,” he says.

Nemzer is working full time as a magician in Manhattan and supporting himself with magic shows and magic related work.

“I actually do quite well for myself, and have multiple endeavors which I have been pursuing (leading to multiple sources of income). I teach after school lessons, work at a magic shop, and perform magic at FAO Schwarz on 5th Avenue, but the bulk of my income comes from performing magic shows, or doing strolling and magic for private parties and corporations,” he says. His newest endeavor is co-producing Manhattan Magic.

Nemzer attended Tannen’s Magic Conservatory in New York for five consecutive years and continues to appear internationally at seminars as an attendee, competitor and guest.

In addition to his training in magic at Tannen’s Magic Conservatory, Nemzer has studied with McCarter Theater, the School For Film and Television, Mercer County Performing Arts High School, and Marymount Manhattan College.

“The mission of Manhattan Magic is to update and contemporize the magic, comedy, and variety show for the 21st century,” says Nemzer.

Manhattan Magic runs Wednesdays, through December 17th, at 8 p.m. Ticket price is $30. The Sage Theater is at 711 7th Avenue, between 47th and 48th streets. For information about the show visit www.ManhattanMagicShow.com.
